TECHNIQUES

MODELING
Building 3D Characters / Objects / Environment

TEXTURE DEVELOPMENT
UV Mapping / Texture Design
Adding color and surface details by projecting 2D images (texture maps) onto a 3D object.

SHADERS / LIGHT SETUP
Shader Development / Lighting Sets

RIGGING
Character Setup / Skeleton Systems / Skinning
Connecting a 3D model to a digital system of joints, bones and control handles (skeleton) that will be used to “deform” the model and create animation key poses.

CHARACTER ANIMATION
Body Animation / Facial Animation
Bringing life, emotion and personality into computer generated characters.

MOTION CAPTURE
Recording movement of human actors and using that information to animate computer generated characters.

CLOTH SIMULATION
Simulating realistic behaviour for cloth related “objects” (colthing, flags, curtains).

FLUID SIMULATION
Simulating realistic animations of water, smoke, explosions and related phenomena.

MOTION GRAPHICS
Combined 2D & 3D Animation.
Graphic design in motion for TV Idents, News Packages, Advertising.

COMPOSITING
Live Action Footage / 3D / 2D
Combining visual elements from separate sources & using various effects and techniques to create the illusion that everything is part of the same scene.

CHROMA KEY
Chroma key is a post-production technique for compositing two video sources based on color hues (chroma range). Main use is to remove a background from the subject of a photo or video and replacing it with a background from another source. This technique is also referred to as color keying, green screen or blue screen.

CAMERA TRACK / MATCH
Tracking the movement of a camera from live action footage so that an identical virtual camera move can be reproduced. Animated elements composited back into the original footage will have correct position, scale, orientation and motion relative to the real objects in the shot.

VECTORS
Creating 2D visual elements, logos and illustrations using vector graphics.

PHOTO
Photography / Photo Retouching / Photo Manipulation
